Goldfilled is a high-quality alloy made of 14-carat gold (gold 585) and another metal.
It is an American standard which states that at least 1/20 part of the weight of the piece must consist of 14-carat gold (gold 585). So it's not a thin layer that leaves quickly, but a proper alloy. The gold is rolled up and is 100x thicker than a simple gilding. This creates a beautiful quality that is well tolerated by people who do not tolerate other metals other than gold.

Goldfilled remains beautiful for a lifetime. Therefore, jewelry made of this high-quality material is also priced slightly higher than simply gilded jewelry. But that's really worth it too!
