Clay figurine, Medieval female character, North Europe style

The figurine is a unique artwork, formed from clay, then adding details and ornaments, and carving the face features. Handpainted using professional ceramic glazes. Fired in the kiln twice during all the making process. The technique is the same as making pottery, which makes the surface waterproof, durable and lasting in time.

The costume depicted is an adopted for a small figurine version of historical Finnish clothing, based on image seen by artist in the National history museum in Helsinki (it may be seen also here:

The figurine is about 15 cm tall.
