A rare vintage fully hallmarked pseudo penannular brooch, Glasgow 1926 and made by McG&S, John Mc GiLvray & Son of Oban.
Marked to the rear with Glasgow hallmark, makers name and "Iona".
Been recently cleaned and polished.
Just over 2 inch across and 1.5 in height plus the end of the pin.
Decorated to the front with a Celtic Knot pattern and 2 vague triskles.
John Mc Gilvray worked in the Celtic style from his shop in Oban on the West coast of Scotland and predates Alexander and Euphemia Ritchie and their work, frequently he marked his jewellery with "Iona" as he had family links with Iona order.
