This pendant features a crystal cluster of rutilated smoky quartz. The raw crystal weighs in at 91 ct and is set in sterling silver wire.

Rutilated quartz is a striking and very unique gemstone. It is an excellent example of an inclusion making a gem: shot throughout the clear, colorless quartz are golden needles of the mineral rutile, filling it with flashing light. This crystal is a very nice piece, with numerous rutile crystals both towards the surface and within the depths of the stone, giving it great brilliance.

This is a great example, with a cluster of bright lightly smoky quartz crystals all shot through with fine golden rutile. They give the stone a beautiful golden sheen as it is turned.
