Antique Jemco Metallic Brocade Marshall Field Company Purse or Handbag with Mother of Pearl Handpainted Peacock Clasp and Satin order Lining

A lovely antique shimmery brocade purse with oak leaves and acorn pattern. What I think is noticeable and unique about this bag is the hand painted clasp. A peacock painted on a piece of mother-of-pearl shell set in a mount. The lining is peach silk satin with matching coin purse on a chain. The original Marshall Field Company tag is present (one stitch is missing). There is a small spot of fraying fabric (approx. 3/4") at the crease on the bottom of the bag. Also unique is the belt loop at order the back. It appears this bag was intended to be worn on a belt, there are no other handles and I could find no place where they may have been removed. The hinges are marked Jemco. A truly unique and lovely handbag.
