Description

Product Name: Vintage Bakelite Bangles and Clips Demi Parure, order circa 1940s

Leo Baekeland developed Bakelite in 1907. It was originally used for industrial, due to its ability to withstand heat. Then, it  had its heyday in the 1930s and '40s. Ladies flooded Dime stores, in an effort to get a good "bang for their buck", and acquired order lovely, affordable pieces of jewelry, to boost their collection. Most production is said to have ceased around the time World War II started.

This set features two beautiful bangles and a pair of matching clip earrings. The bangle colors are rich golden butterscotch and bright mustard yellow. The clips looks as though they are golden saucers holding clusters of golden grapes.

The set is in good condition. The bead clusters, on the clips, are firmly adhered and the ear clips work well. There is moderate wear, to the bangles, for their age. No visible scratches.

They meas: Clips - 1 1/4" diameter, Bangles - 2 1/2" diameter

This set is UNMARKED
