Vintage Bobblehead Nodder Santa Whisky Decanter Mugs Christmas Japan Mid order Century 1950s Barware Bottle Collectibles Decorations Figurines

What a great piece! Santa decanter has four ceramic hooks around his beltline - holster style, that hold a set of TWO mini 'shot' mugs (there are four pictured, but two were broken). I don't have the original box, but did happen upon the graphics online. Caption reads "SANTA CLAUS WHISKY SET WITH BOUNCING HEAD." No info as to manufacturer, but made in Japan, probably in the 50's. We have been avid collectors of Santa barware for over 20 years, and never seen this piece except one other time.

Santa's head is attached to a ceramic plug, wound with coiled wire and fits snugly inside the top portion. Santa has a beautiful face, with a wavy beard, soulful eyes and a sprig of holly on either side of the curl peeking out beneath his cap. Clad in traditional red suit, sponged gold details the top of his suit and end of his cap. Both 'shot' mugs are painted an iridescent dark brown. It wasn't until I took pics that I realized you can see the tissue paper under Santa's noggin. We added it while taking photos to keep that bobble action under control, so not a flaw, just some paper, and the proper way to store it!

Santa measures approximately 9” tall and 4” wide; mugs are approximately 1¾” tall. This is a wonderful set, close to mint vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs, no significant paint loss, no crazing noted. All have paper Japan labels on bottom.
