This hand stitched antique Bow Tie pieced quilt was made between 1870 and 1890. The red striped sashing is in good condition. The quilt is 75" x 63" ( 193cm x 162cm) and is shown on a double bed. There are about 15 places that need repair. The border needs new edge fabric because it looks as though a previous owner was planning to add a new border but never did. The background color is a warm white.
This is a very good example of the Bow Tie pattern that was popular in the late 1800's..
