Sisyphus Wire and order Wood Sculpture - Spiral Staircase #175

Hand made wood and wire depiction of the Greek myth Sisyphus - punished by Zeus to eternally push a boulder uphill. if ever he would reach the top of the hill, the boulder would roll off and Sisyphus had to push it back again. Great gift for Greek mythology enthusiasts or the corporate business worker who complains that each day it feels like pushing a rock up a hill.

The figure is Scrub Oak, the "rock" from slash pin, "mountain" in order this sculpture is depicted as a spiral staircase composed of wood reclaimed from the drawers of a wooden desk (approximately 60 different colored slats), a brass rod, and wire.

Tung oil finish.
