In ALL my years I have never quite come across a velvet suit like this. YAY! Absolutely stunning. Deep midnight black silk or silk blend velvet with rhinestone buckle order accents at the neckline and cuffs. I have lightened pictures as much as I can to try to show detail. I am horrid at photographing velvet. From the late 1940's this suit is the epitome of chic. The jacket is fully lined with light shoulder shapers, a nipped waist and bust darts. The sleeves a touch below the elbow with rhinestone buckle like additions mirroring the neckline. The neckline has a stylized short shawl collar, no notches. A hidden snap at the embellishment and velvet covered buttons for closure. Button holes are French finished. The back of the jacket has a very slight blousen effect. Beautifully constructed. No labels at all but I do not believe this is a homemade suit. It just seems high end boutiquey. Bust 37 Waist 27 Sleeves 17.5 Shoulders 16 The skirt is a true pencil. Waist 25 Hips 36 Length 32.
