Midcentury modern geometric pattern in white, gray, black & gold Signed Georges Briard I haven't seen this pattern anywhere before & it's amazing to have a full set of 8 In very good used condition. I am no expert but I see very little wear. Please look at photos carefully & ask questions before purchasing. Midcentury barware Art deco George's Briard Mid-century Whiskey Rocks Georges Briard, whose birth name was Jascha Brojdo, was born in Russia i1917. At the age of 20, he moved to the U.S. & studied at the Art Institute of Chicago order where he earned his MFA. In the beginning of Briard's career, he'd purchase blank glassware from companies like Libbey & Anchor Hocking & embellish these blanks with his designs. Being a designer, not a manufacturer of glass, he later realized he could license his name to companies who would, in turn, produce his designs on glassware. His "designed & signed" wares were stocked at noted department stores, including Neiman Marcus & Bonwit Teller.
