Antique French Ironstone soup order tureen, blue floral transferware soupière lidded soup bowl, St Amand tea stained early design authentic 1800's

A stunning tea-stained cream and Prussian blue ironstone transferware lidded soup tureen or soupière, dating from the late 1800's. Made by the French faience factory "Saint Amand". The ironstone itself has a crackle glaze tea-stained appearance throughout, which just oozes order authentic shabby chic, and authenticates the true age of the piece. Very unusual to find a piece in this colour, prussian blue, complete with the original lid still intact.

An intricate pattern in good antique condition throughout, characterful and charming for it's age. No large nibbles or chips at all that I can see. Some minor surface scratches on the inside surface. There are significant areas of tea staining throughout, particularly on the lid, clearly visible on the photos. There are also a couple of hairline cracks, also shown in the photos. Marked "4007" on the base.

Genuinely old, as you can tell from the quality of the glaze, the mottling and crazing, some small discoloration/tea staining in patches throughout both inside and out, and transfers which are irregular in their opacity and repeat, unlike modern reproductions. Would look great either used as a display piece, even used on a daily basis as a fruit bowl.
Not suitable for a dishwasher, hand wash only.

Definitely a piece from a bygone era, a classic piece of antique French design. I bought the soup tureen at an antiques fair in France.
