St Amand "Eglantine" Coffee order Service, Pot, Milk Jug, Six Cups and Saucers, 1960's

This is a very elegant coffee set, consisting of a large coffee pot, a milk jug, and six cups and saucers. This earthenware set has the really pretty "Eglatine" pattern, which is a Eurasian wild rose or "sweet briar", on all pieces. The saucers allow the cups to be off-set to one side, so that the rose can be clearly seen on both pieces. From the 1960's, the set is in fantastic condition, and is marked on the undersides "Eglantine,1713, Faience de St Amand, France". Variations in shading is to be expected in hand painted earthenware such as this. This lovely set can be complemented with a further 4 order cups and saucers, if required - see other listing.
