Antique / Early Vintage Sterling Silver Case, order Advertising, New York City, Automobile, Motorcar, Sewing, Needlework, Container, Small Gift

A gorgeous early 1900s sterling silver case from my personal collection. Hallmarked and marked "Sterling" under the hinged lid. One side has a spectacular elaborate design with a cross at the center, marked "Coach Car", and Superfine Willeys Specialties Colors. The other side says "Compliments of C.A. Willey Company. Based on my research, CA Willey was a NYC based company specializing in paints and varnishes for carriages and automobiles. I imagine it catered to high-end clients if order it could distribute complimentary gifts of this type and quality. Measures 2 3/4" x 5/8" x 3/16". I acquired it in a collection of sewing and needlework objects, and the case had been used by the previous owner to store a collection of antique bodkins. It seems too slender to be a match case, so I am not certain of the original purpose of this exquisite case. It's in good vintage condition, with light age/wear, a slight shallow dent on one side.
