The main properties and benefits of Merino:

-does not scratch the skin
-insulates well against cold and also heat
-transports moisture
-can absorb up to a third order of their dry weight in moisture without feeling clammy
-cools by evaporative cold at warm temperatures
-also warms when it is moist (actively generates heat when it absorbs moisture)
-does not stink (even after prolonged wearing) and therefore needs to be washed less often
-retains the fit or hardly wrinkles
-is flame retardant (unlike other fibres such as synthetic fibres)
- has a natural sun protection factor of up to 50 (depending on density and weave)
- does not charge electrostatically (unlike synthetic materials)
-is biodegradable (like wool in general)
