Ehecatl Quetzalcoatl

This is a replica from the original Ehecatl that was found in Mexico and currently displayed in a museum. Ehecatl Quetzalcoatl is the essence of movement, life.. also known as ehecacózcatl. Wind is associated with the shell which spirals and produces a sound when wind enters such as playing a conch as seen on some ancestral ceremonies in the Americas and Pacific Islands. The clay utilized to make this figure is from the state of Oaxaca. Any dark marks on the figure is a result of its firing process. There is an extensive process for each of these pieces of art and no two will ever be exactly the same.

This Ehecatl was made by Maestro Artesano Martinez~Artisan Master Martinez, who is a talented and experienced artist in making pre-hispanic replicas order and art in Teotihuacan, Mexico.
