Chrome diopside is a rich order green stone mined primarily in northern Siberia, Russia, though there are minor low-quality sources around the world. It's occasionally referred to as "Russian Emerald" as well. The gems in these earrings are from the Russian mines, which only operate 2-3 months of the year because of the long and harsh winter conditions of Siberia. It seems funny that a gem saturated with an intense and vibrant shade of the color of life is primarily found in a land frozen over for most of the year! Chrome diopside is the most true, pure green gem you can find, especially since it isn't treated.
