Vintage Very Rare teak J.V. Orel Balancing Bear, Mid Century Wood Animal, Danish Inspired, Kay Bojensen, Swank Japan. From the Zoo Line.

This vintage Mid-Century Danish Modern balancing upside-down handstand bear is in very good condition. Designed and made by J.V. Orel, this solid carved teak wood balancing bear is a rare piece from Orel's Zoo Line, and was a Swank Japan Exclusive. This item is signed on the underside of the base, as shown in the photograph and bears the original Swank gold label. The bear is 7 1/2" tall and 3" across the base. This piece was made in the 1960's.

I have left this piece unpolished to preserve the original state that I found this item in but the teak should polish up nicely.

This would be perfect for any collection and is a rare piece. The two holes in the bear are original to this item and I was told it was to hold nail set? order
