This antique brooch is set with square faceted garnets, set into a handmade gold setting. The brooch measures about 1 3/8 inches long, and weighs about 1.8 grams. The setting is unmarked, but acid-tests as 10 karat gold, and the stones test as garnets using a Presidium gem tester. The brooch dates from the late 1800s, and has the order C clasp and tube hinge construction found in Victorian brooches. This brooch is in very good original condition, with no apparent issues.
