This is the kind of book that does not belong on a shelf. This book belongs on a coffee table. It will create so much conversation at your parties, meetings and your clients waiting to see you will not be disappointed. There are so many truths of what truly happened and when it happened in this Chronicle of Canada. You will not see the teachers of today teaching what is written in this book because it was written before there were rules about proper written enunciation of the ethnicity people of today. If you really want to know what happened to the native people of Canada, this book tells the real story. It is the future's unedited version of reality as we knew it. If you want to know the fight for women's rights, this book fills in the details. If you want to know when the oil was first discovered and who discovered it, you can read it here. If you want to know who killed who and who took what and where it happened and why you won't be told these truths in the school history books, you can read it here. This book was one of the books that were removed from school libraries years ago. That is why there are so few left of this First Edition. All future editions of this book have been updated (Articles were cut, were edited from it, those that were not allowed to be part of the historic truths.)

This book was classified as one of the top 100 historical books of Canadian History back in 1990. There are no markings or stickers from a library. Does not have the original dust Jacket, but I have had this book for a long time and did not want to destroy the hardback cover, so I originally put a brown paper cover dust jacket on it when I received it from my father's library. I learned how to make them when I was 10 years old in the Red Brick Primary School in Edson, Alberta. Mr. Green was the librarian and I needed to do something to keep my hyperactivity in check, so this amongst other things like writing classification cards for the entire library…….…another story.
Since then, being that the dust cover was not with the book, I decided to sell this treasure and created my own cover from copies of the book of pictures and article titles that I found worthy of your immediate viewing before reading this book. I hope you enjoy my choices as the brown paper bag just didn't do it justice. This piece of history should be displayed, and my handmade book cover will only entice the reader to look at what is inside.
I make book covers all the time and am thinking of implementing them all into my library of books for sale. With picture and headlines of what is in each book, this is my prototype, so I hope you like it. A fitting addition to the First Edition.
The video I put on YouTube has a prototype music I put together with my Ableton program… being the first, I think I can only get better…. Lol.
The Picture Editor, Jutta Duenwald-Dowler made it easy to pick as all the pictures were worthy candidates.
The first Edition was conceived and coordinated by Jacques Legrand. 100's of people had their input and submissions.
This book begins in 4.6 billion BC. It has so much information about where Canada began and how it came to be and where it was up to the year 1990.
This is such an incredible Canadian history book; learn actual historical facts you never knew. This was written before Canadian historians censored and revised it to fit the politically correct narrative. You could read this book every day for a year and still not read everything it has to offer. I looked for the year 1967 and it talks about the expo in Montreal. That was the year my daddy won a trip to go there and where I celebrated my birthday. The year I was in the hospital having my appendix taken out, the Nuclear Plant in Pickering officially opened…. My favorite part of this book is where I found out that in the year and month I was born, “the voice of the women” was formed to work for world peace. The first time I got married the book says environmentalists were fighting with the government to stop drilling in the Beaumont Sea. The year my class graduated; Greenpeace launched their new protest ship. I found out that the year and just before my first born was brought into this world, that The New York Islanders defeated Vancouver Canucks 4 to none; to win the Stanley Cup. The year and month my adopted son came into my life the BC Place 60000 seat stadium officially opened. I also discovered that while I was in labor with my daughter, Canadian scientists were discovering a fossil forest near the north pole; and while I was in the hospital right after I gave birth to my last child in Edmonton, Gretzky in Edmonton signed a deal to go to LA. Through this book, you can relate your life to the events that occurred, and it makes your memories even stronger. A great book. An incredible read.
There are color pictures and black and white pictures on almost every page. Articles that are so varied, it gives a very well-rounded accounting of what really happened back before people were convince the past could be rewritten.
