Okama order Necklace

Handmade beaded necklace. This is filled with intention, prayer, + protection. Okama is the "path around your neck".

This necklace is order made by the very talented Embera Chami . The Embera Chami (people from the mountain range) are an indigenous tribe from Colombia. As part of their traditional costumes, they manufacture hand crafted necklaces, to protect women's dignity and grace. This is a way they pass their prayers, stories + traditions to the next generation. They also believe that a woman carries the weight of the earth on her shoulders + so it is important to adorn + protect those shoulders. The necklaces feel like a mantle of protection on the body.
