Vintage BIRKS Sterling Silver Cigarette Case, With Silver Hallmarks.
Hefty little hinged solid silver BIRKS sterling cigarette case, convex shape with machine cut alternating lines on the lid. The inside is finished with a gilt protective coating.
Stamped inside both sides of the case are silver hallmarks, including the silver passant and makers marks. Looks order to have been made in 1943 as represented by the "H" date mark.
The clasp is in excellent working order. Elastic cigarette hinge 'bars' are a little slack from age.
Piece weighs 64.7 grams. Measures 3.5" x 2.75" x 0.75".
CONDITION: Light scratches, and a couple of small dents. Item has been engraved in the monogram plate with the initials "J A J" or "T A T".
