Vintage "Original Steiff" Young Lion vintage 1956 – order 1961

This vintage Steiff Young Lion cub, produced from 1956 to 1961 only & therefore very rare to find, a highly collectible vintage Steiff animal! His head swivels which is rare. He is wearing his “Original Steiff “ chest tag and is the smallest version ever made. Made of natural colored mohair, very firmly stuffed with wood wool, original glass eyes, and clear whiskers on both sides of his embroidered nose. This cub has great color with detailed air brushing. Front paws have black lines to indicate his little toes. This cub has lived in a smoke free environment all his life. He is good vintage great condition. Sits 4-1/2” tall, 4” long and 3-1/2” wide. I noticed he sits a little to his right which makes him look like he is getting ready to lift his back left foot, which is also a little raised. Also the back of his neck has some funky stitching on it, which is not from wear but possibly manufactured this way, not absolutely sure. The props in his pictures are not part of the sale. This young cub will be an awesome addition to a Steiff collection or someone who order collects lions.
