This is a Vintage Wooden Hand Carved Couple, ideal to symbolize Union, marriage, family, love, bonding, unity, togetherness. Use them as imagery, altar pieces, and to enhance spellwork. Or they can be simple tribal or ethnic decor. They originate from Ghana. They are adorned with cowrie shells. The shell earrings are particularly telling of the vintage age, as the surface is dull, and the cowrie itself is somewhat different than ones that are found today. The leather thong holding the shells order also show signs of age. The wooden faces and bodies are in excellent condition. They were probably not handled much. They measure about 8" tall, and the head is about 3" wide. The female is slightly larger than the male. They can be hung on a wall, or stand alone on a shelf, altar, table, etc. The Folklore behind them is very interesting. They are exquisite to hold and admire.
