Handmade Custom Ceramic Custom Birth Plaque order Gift

Birth Plaque - this one is beach themed. The parents requested their favorite place to be the theme. Since it was for 2 sisters, I created a Sunrise and a Sunset at the beach.
This was underglazed, stained and glazed using various colors.

Started with designing a possible finished product and sketching it. Then cutting a template to shape the clay, adding components, applying name and date, choosing colors. As the plaque progresses, each step has a different part to develop as the piece dries, layers are constructed, gets bisqued in the kiln the first time, painted/stained/glazed and gets fired in the kiln the second final time. The one-of-a kind ceramic is complete. (Hanging options are discussed beforehand. order This one has a sawtooth hanger epoxied to back).
