This vintage medal features on the front an image of Saint Bernadette order Soubirous (1844-1879) kneeling in heavenly ecstasy as she gazes upon the sweet presence of the Virgin in the grotto. The reverse depicts an imposing facade of the Lourdes Basilica as seen from a distance.

The artist is Marcel Renard (1893-1974) and he initialed the medal 'M.R.' on the front and signed it in full on the back.

Measures 2 3/8 inches diameter. Edge-marked BRONZE. Weighs 92 grams.
