Speckled Cluster Artisan order Necklace

A one-off, one-of-a-kind necklace of clustered hand pinched balls of clay dusted with a fine spray of red and finished with a double strand order of multi-sized white glass beads... not likely to be seen again.
These custom made beads were part of a special commission from a group of ceramic artisans and glass makers in South Africa. Sixteen artists and crafters were invited to use the beads as inspiration to design anything that came to mind. A selection of items from each designer was curated for an exhibition titled Conversations from a Grain of sand a play on the origins of clay and glass.
Last Christmas I unearthed a box of leftover beads from my stash and above is the result.
