Description

Product Name: Sadler 3403 hand-decorated four-cup teapot with matching order open sugar bowl made in England. Minor flaw (see below).

Early mid-century (1940s) Sadler 3403 hand-decorated, four-cup teapot with lid and matching open sugar bowl made in England. Golden leaves and swirls set onto a cream ground with gold accents.

In VERY GOOD! condition the teapot and sugar bowl have NO! chips, nicks, cracks, or fleabites and LITTLE TO NO! loss or wear to the gold florals, swirls or accents. The inside bowl of the pot and internal strainer area is fresh and clean with only MINIMAL! tannin staining. The under-side of the tea pot order shows browning and wear, noticeable only when it is over-turned and there is a minuscule nick to the under-side of the lid about the flange, noticeable only when it is removed from the pot and over-turned. Pieces show age-appropriate crazing on all sides.

Impressed SADLER ENGLAND marks to base, as well as decorator's mark in gold to the under-side of the teapot.

Approximate measurements: four-cup teapot stands 7-1/2" (base to tip of lid pull).
