order I think these old company accounting ledgers are fascinating. This one is from the 1930s, and the ledger records the cash and expenses of a Ford car dealership, and it's neat to see the dollar amounts and the way things were categorized. The penmanship is also captivating compared to today's computerized quickbooks and software. This ledger is mostly filled, with entries on all but a handful of the pages. The ledger is organized in five consecutive sections: there are pages devoted to Cash Receipts from February 1935 to December 1937, Purchase Records from January 1935 to January 1938, Cash Disbursements from December 1934 to February 1938, Summary of Sales and Material Costs from January 1935 to January 1938, and finally General Journal entries from January 1935 to December 1937. There are no outside covers, and the binding is still secure except for the first page, which is loose. The ledger measures about 17" by 10 3/4" by 1 1/4" and it is in fair condition, with come watermarks, some small tear and folds, a few smudges, but it is highly legible and fascinating.
