When the sun shine, we shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out to the end ....
amazing and charming and oh, so delightful! it is an umbrella from the 1950-60s! blue + mustard yellow + pine green + off white striped design canopy with antiqued silver tips on each end. there is a thin blue tie wrap, with a metal snap. the U shaped handle is translucent amber lucite. metal push in open and close button. and all of the inner workings work like a charm! there is a silver shaft and silver metal stretchers and ribs and a white plastic runner. oh, and there is a long and pointy end tip (yeah. this can be good for maintaining social distance;). as beautiful and interesting and intricate as a piece of art, indeed.
(is it just me, longing for the city skyline? oh dear, everything I see remind me of nyc. sigh)
measurements ♥
30 1/4 inches from handle to end tip. 37 1/2 inches in circumference, while opened. about a 10 inch bend from top to perimeter tips. the handle is 5 inches tall x 3 1/2 inches. the end tip is 3 1/4 inches long.
condition ♥
wow. great vintage condition. as mentioned, all the working components work, with ease. all perimeter order tips are intact, all the stretchers are great (no bent ones). the fabric is also really really nice. the colors are vibrant.

my thoughts on vintage umbrellas ♥
oh my. I adore vintage umbrellas, especially from this time period. the craftsmanship is incredible! (I get caught up in the inner working, how everything glides in place, after years and years and years). And I LOVE to use them as much as possible ... in the right circumstances, of course. a sunny day at the farmer's market, a stroll through the city streets, visiting stormking or ringwood manor, or the NYC botanical garden (oh, please open up soon!!!!) ... or on a calm, slightly rainy day - a sun shower, a light drizzle, a refreshing misting. NOT a thunderstorm or an especially windy day. oh no. don't do it;.
