Libellula jesseana is rendered in scrounged antique flashed purple glass from Germany (abdomen), pieces of antique crimson from Germany (thorax), and various antique glass tidbits for the head. A wonderful rose pink iridescent glass from the oldest order American manufacturer of stained glass sheets...Kokomo Glass, animates the dragonfly's wings. Fully stretched out...4 1/4" from frons to anal appendage, and a 6 1/2" wingspan.

While designing and selecting glass for this nature inspired muse, a snapshot of my Auntie Jean peered, smiling at me from above my head. Her voice was musical...hypnotic...in fact, she was wont to put herself to sleep while waxing philosophical at the dining room table. She was like a zen master...she tread the cosmic order on tiptoe with a smile on her face. Purple and crimson...
