Small order aqua log cabin quilt

This adorable quilt is made of an old fashioned order block called the Log Cabin. This block has been around since the 1800's. A traditional log cabin quilt block has a red block in the center which represents the hearth of the home and the pieces around the center represents the logs in the cabin. Thus, the name, log cabin block. This quilt is a modern version. The center block is gray and the strips around the center block are aqua, gray, and white. There are two borders which surround the center of the quilt.

The fabric is from Kaufman Fabrics called Penned Pals. The “pals” are lions, bears, and giraffes. The backing is from the same line with the fun giraffes. I always choose fun and/or pretty backing fabric for all my quilts. This adds interest and makes the quilt reversible.

The quilt measures 35 1/2 by 44 1/2 inches. It would look great draped over the rocking chair or for tummy time. But, it is made to be used and loved.

I've quilted with diagonal straight lines.

Care for the quilt is simple. It can be machine washed with a mild detergent, no bleach, on the gentle cycle with cold water. Dry it on a warm setting or lay flat to dry. Washing will give the soft, crinkly effect that well loved and used quilts achieve over time.

It was made in a smoke free pet free environment.
