French vintage / antique enamelled terracotta trivet, pan /pot stand, with four feet and crazing.

A delightful and rare piece, I have never seen another trivet like this one. Trivets order are usually metal or have a wooden base and a tile insert. This is made from ceramic, most likely terracotta and, glazed and painted afterwards. It has enamelled paint which has a wonderful aged patina. The handles are hand painted.

There are a few signs of age and wear, a few nicks and marks here and there but these do not detract from this charming item.

A fabulous addition to any kitchen, a very useful and decorative trivet.
