Wool coat size 4-5 years, has order hand embroidered mouse & flowers, velvet and crochet trims, made with love from recycled and vintage materials

this gorgeous swing coat is styled from an old 1930's pattern. the look is traditional with a twist.

for the outer fabric i have used a recycled 100 %, shrink proof wool blanket. it was vintage and had a label saying 1952.

i have hand embroidered, free style, the bodice fronts and the lower skirt edge on one front.

sprays of alpine flowers and a little brown mouse.

other details are the repurposed crochet lace edges for the cuffs and collar. these are made from vintage cotton doilies.

the hem is very full and swingy. a hand stitched velvet edge finishes the coat bottom, and sleeves, also the neck.

handmade velvet buttons adorn the front.

fully lined with red and blue taffeta lining, the skirt lining hangs free, to allow for freedom of swing on the outer fabric.

i am thinking this coat will suit a 4 to 5 year old child.

length in back down centre, neck to hem: 22 inches order or 56 cm.

under arm seam on sleeve: 10 inches or 26 cm.

sleeve from edge of shoulder, down outside of arm to wrist: 14 inches or 36 cm.

shoulder 3 & 1/2 inches or 9 cm.

chest all around at under arm level when coat is closed: 28 inches or 71 cm.
