Costal Living Sea Shell order Hand Encrusted Vintage Jewelry Box

This now fabulous, octagonal shaped, sea shell jewelry box, was once lacquered wood, and sitting in a thrift shop just waiting for someone to give it new life. It is Italian made, and was once a music box as well, but sadly it no longer plays.

The box measure aprox. 8.5L X 6H X 8.5W. The shells are from almost white to various shades of cream.

The shells were meticulously encrusted, one at a time, in a cream tinted, white glue composite, that has a sprinkling of diamond dust for a little added sparkle. The bottom portion consists of Cay Cay shells, with the top consisting of a beautiful assortment of cream colored sea shells. One of the more interesting ones is The Heart Cockle (Corculum Cardissa) it literally looks like a heart. The center is outlined first in a double band of Tiny White Cups., then a double band of order light bronze-ish bugle bead and dark brown seed beads to focus the attention on the beautiful shell assortment.

This beautiful box would make a wonderful gift or addition to anyone who loves the beach.
