The Octopus versus the Lighthouse order (veneer)

I first designed this piece because I have a pirate themed bathroom, which is perfectly normal, right? I live an hour from the Oregon Coast and have always loved vacationing on the beach. This lighthouse was modeled after one that I have visited a few times and once got yelled at order when I tried to go up a ladder into the light area. I didn't realize that spot was off-limits. Oops. So now I have taken my revenge by having a giant octopus attack it.

I sketched different versions of this in my drawing journal until I refined one that I liked. I then scanned the drawing and re-drew it in Illustrator using the pen tool. Next I cut the layers out with a laser cutter on thin plywood and glued them together.
