Ethiopian order Welo Opal Carved Leaf Cabochon Rainbow Fire Precious Gemstone October Birthstone

This listing is for a Ethiopian Welo Opal carved leaf cabochon. This artisan carved gem was created right here in Oregon. The quality of the color play is incredible! The gem quality puts these stones in the precious gemstone category for opals.
The gem is a cabochon with a slightly curved back to allow more light into the gem.

This carved leaf measure approx 16.5 x 9 mm and weighs 1.9 cts.

My opal listing pictures are taken with minimal lighting and on a black background because this shows the color play potential best.
On a white background or without good sunlight or movement in strong light the color play with be duller or not show at all and the body color of the gem will show much more.

Most natural gemstones have smaller drill holes. Briolettes are easier to work with using dead soft wire.
Use 26, 28 or 30 gauge wire to work with these stones. Beading wire .012 -.016 diameter should work for stringing.
