======Athena was the Greek goddess of wisdom, war, justice, the arts, industry, and skill. She was the daughter of Zeus, the ruler of Mount Olympus and the pantheon of Greek gods who lived there. Her mother was Metis (whose name means cunning intelligence). When Metis became pregnant, Zeus became fearful that she might bear a son more powerful than he, so he swallowed her whole. Inside of Zeus, Metis began order making a robe and helmet for the baby she was carrying. The hammering of the helmet gave Zeus great headaches which caused him to cry out in agony. Zeus's skilled son, Hephaestus in an attempt to aid is ailing father, hit him on the head and split his skull open. From it emerged Athena, fully grown and wearing her mother's robe and helmet. She became Zeus's favorite child.========
