Powdery blue turquoise, Morenci birdseye water web cabochon with a slight reddish-brown matrix. This is a natural stone that has not been professionally treated to enhance stability such as most turquoise.
The Morenci Turquoise Mine produced characteristic color variations of light blue to very dark blue, not much green, very little spider web with a light tan matrix, and specs of order pyrite. Sadly, Morenci turquoise is considered a byproduct of a very large, open-pit, copper mining operation and is no longer available.

The Heart of the Stone
Turquoise has inspired many legends and stories. The rich history of turquoise is immersed in mystery, romance, and passion spanning many continents of the world. The sky blue to blue-green colors of turquoise have been prized and collected for over 5000 years. Decorative, protective, and mystical, turquoise is known to be a symbol of hope and good luck and by many historical accounts was valued more than gold.
Turquoise moves through many gifted hands and at each interval a connection forms as the turquoise is handled with deference to a design concept that embraces all its best features.
The heart of the stone is made by the miners who dig this blue gold out of the ground along with the lapidary craftsmen, artisans, and others who envision, then create beautiful cabochons and jewelry designs that captivate and enchant.
There is a collective soul where turquoise is concerned and we have felt its sway. We began as admirers and bloomed into collectors of this stone from nature's raw form to an artist's masterpiece. Turquoise set us on a different path and I believe our enthusiasm for turquoise has renewed us in countless ways. After all, it's a journey.
