A glass vase sometimes known as Savoy designed by the famous Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto, first presented at the World's Exposition in 1937 in Paris. He originally designed this vase with his wife Aido for a competition announced by the Littala glassworks. Ironically, he had no rights to this later record-breaking design and was never financially rewarded for it. The inspiration for the shape of the vase was allegedly the traditional dress of Sami women. The vase is still in production, it has been produced in many colours and shapes. This vase is made of dark blue glass It measures 5” high and order about 6” wide. Great condition a few slight scratches on the bottom and one on the side as far as I can see.
