Maple order Urn

This product is a gorgeous Maple burl/burr urn with stunning curly grain. It is topped with a tight fitting maple countersunk style order lid finished with finial made from African Blackwood, that all together gives a lovely unison to this product.

This product could be intended as a unique cremation urn for a pet's ashes, displayed as an elegant memorial.

This product is handmade; the wood had been turned on a lathe, carved and sanded to give this finished product.

This piece has several finishing stages. Firstly, a sealant is pushed into the grain, this stabilises the wood and gives strong, long-lasting protection. Secondly a fine grit mixture is applied including mineral oil, lemon oil, beeswax, rotten stone, and pumice, giving a velvety smooth finish. Finally, a layer of paste wax is applied to give a final layer of protection against fingerprints and water splashes.

All finishes are food and toy safe.
