There's a top and front pocket for extra storage, and a mesh pocket inside the bag. Straps help compress the bag and there's a top and side handle for carrying if you don't want to use the backpack straps. The shoulder straps and hip belt can be tucked away when going through TSA lines. There are some scuffs but the bag is made of durable material and will work well for checking or carrying luggage.
