Kintsugi ("golden joinery" ) is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, embracing its flaws order and highlighting its imperfections. Using golden resin, Kintsugi artists highlight the object's cracks and imperfections and honor its history; transforming a once-broken, useless piece into a priceless piece of art. It is also known as Kintsukuroi ("golden repair").
The Kintsugi philosophy is similar to wabi sabi, a Zen state of mind that accepts that the world is full of imperfection. Kintsugi is the process of respecting, embracing and celebrating an object's history, despite its modern-world "flaws."
This unique, one-of-a-kind piece has been created using the Kintsugi crack method. It will never be replicated.
*Due to the golden resin and gold finish, all Kintsugi items are for decoration only.*
Kintsugi objects should NOT be used for food, or in a dishwasher or microwave. It is recommended that vases are used for faux floral arrangements only. Our studio does NOT use Japanese urushi resin due to the potential of allergic reactions.
Wipe with a dry, soft cloth to clean.
