*REBINDING DETAILS*
This classic book has been carefully stripped down to the text block, (paper pages only), and rebuilt by hand with archival bookbinding materials.
It has been traditionally rebound with six raised bands on the spine, a braided jute place keeper and brown & cream art-silk head and tail bands.
The book was then bound in an olive green leather.
The spine label and cover label are printed on a thinner unfinished leather, then sprayed with art sealant before being affixed to the book.
The front cover label has four brass decorative leaves at the top and a long brass decorative leaf piece at the bottom. The spine has a brass wolf, tiger & elephant. There is also a monkey at the bottom of the ribbon.
The inside endpapers are a green jungle print. It's an archival order acid free paper printed in Italy.
This book also has leather joints, which is an older style of traditional binding. I think it helps the hinges last longer, and it looks nice too :)
