Description

Product Name: Framed Portland Gas order and Coke Building with St Johns Bridge landscape Cityscape painting

order Imagine moving to a city you've visited just twice in which you only know only two people, your roommates. It was a lot of pressure to put on them to introduce me to Portland after a very traumatizing break-up. One of the first little ventures they took me out on was a visit to St John's Bridge. But as we approached the turn off Route 30 I beheld this haunted looking beauty. Hold the phone! What is that? Well, it was the Portland Gas and Coke Building, where they manufactured gas from oil for many years, contaminating the building and ground surrounding it. It was abandoned in 1957 and was finally, sadly demolished in late 2015. If you knew the site well, you would know that when you pass by the empty lot now your heart wrenches.

Painted with acrylics and ink with a graphic bubble design dancing around the piece, playing with my unique linework. The frame is wooden and painted a glossy black with yellow details and the painting inside is a 10x8 inches. I love the enamel frame because it looks weathered and toxic, like this gorgeous Gothic Revival Building.
