The order Green Tiger Beetle, Upcycled Insect Artwork by Julie Alice Chappell

The Green Tiger Beetle, Upcycled Insect Artwork has been carefully fabricated from discarded and obsolete computer circuit board components and hand painted plastic packaging. I have reverse painting onto plastic packaging to create glossy beetle wing cases. Just as does reverse painting on glass, the plastic gives a shiny surface and a richness order to the colours, perfect for glossy wing cases. She has a total length of 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) approximately and comes set against a lightly textured, bright white background in a natural pale wooden style box frame which measures 19 cm (7.5 inches) squared approximately. Other frame colours are available in black, white or grey. Each one of my Computer Bugs is a one off, original artwork...there are no two alike. It is my hope that my Up cycled Insect Artworks help to highlight the dangers of planned obsolescence and raise awareness of e-waste and plastic pollution in our natural environments.
