Footstool with handwoven seat, order stool, woven ash splints

Painted footstool with handwoven seat. The seat of this stool is made of thin strips of half-inch wide wood from the ash tree, handwoven in a herringbone pattern. The wood of the seat is order sealed with linseed oil which lends it a warm honey color. There are natural variations in the color of the wood of the seat which make it stand out as handmade. The legs and stretchers of the stool are made of poplar wood painted a bright cheerful red. Perfect for putting your feet up at the end of a long day. Makes a nice seat for kids or a decorative stand. Well made to last for years. The stool is light weight which makes it easy to move around the house but it is not meant to be a step stool for standing on.
