ORIGINAL - Desert order Sun

After order making a batch of bright yellow handmade paper, I looked outside and thought a series of sun related drawings would be perfect. I took inspiration for the themes of each sun drawing from my drawing session locations, objects in my studio, and personal memories.

Desert Sun is the seventh in a series of eight sun inspired ink drawings.

After I drew one southwest inspired drawing, I noticed our collection of Kachina dolls. One was the Sun Kachina doll. All the Sun Kachina dolls I have seen always appear to be smiling with the triangular shaped mouth. I was in a melancholy mood and it was raining while drawing, so I depicted Desert Sun weeping.

Paper, ink, mat board and backing are acid free for long lasting quality.

Artwork is approximately 8 1/2 in by 10 in and is mounted on black mat board and foam backing suitable for an 11 X 14 frame.
