Kintsugi ("golden joinery" ) is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics, embracing their flaws and highlighting imperfection. Using golden resin, Kintsugi artists highlight the object's cracks and imperfections and honor its history; transforming a once-broken piece into something new: a totally unique, priceless piece of art. It is also known as Kintsukuroi ("golden repair").
The Kintsugi philosophy is similar to wabi sabi and mono no aware: Zen states of mind that accept that the world is full of imperfection. Kintsugi is the process of respecting, embracing, and celebrating an object's history, despite its modern-world flaws.
This unique, one-of-a-kind piece has been created using the Kintsugi crack method. This art piece will never be replicated.
*All Kintsugi items are for decoration only.*
Kintsugi objects should NOT be used for food, in a dishwasher, or microwave. It is recommended that vases are used for faux floral arrangements only. Our studio does NOT use Japanese urushi resin due to the potential of allergic reactions.
Wipe with a dry, soft cloth to clean.
