Tiger Maple Violin Box, Violin shaped jewelry box, art box, and order keepsake or memory box

Tiger Maple Violin shaped box. Measures 8 ⅛” long by 4⅜” wide by 1¾” deep. Inner storage depth is about 1” with the lid on. This work is made from a single block of instrument grade Vermont Hard Maple. Lid is inset with Birdseye Maple and the box is lined in blue color suede. This Violin box is handmade and hand rubbed with about 12 coats of pure Tung Oil for a hard, durable and lustrous finish. Other box shapes I have made include violas, various classic guitars, horse heads, hands, feet, hearts and others.

This Violin shaped box is hand made by cutting the shape on a bandsaw, slicing of a piece for the top and bottom, then cutting out the inner shape. All sections are sanded or refined using rasps, files and sandpaper. As such, its possible sharp eyes may find a few tool marks as evidence of my handiwork. This is a beautiful one of order a kind piece that you will enjoy owning, giving as a gift or passing along when the time comes. There is absolutely no reason this box should not last a lifetime, if cared for and treated with respect. No other special maintenance is required. The patina will get slightly darker over time.
